Mrs. Florence O. Ward South

Mrs. Florence O. Ward South, 97, of Thomaston, died Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Harborview Health Care. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. South will be held on Monday, April 12, at 11:00 AM, at Upson Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tim South will officiate. Mrs. South was born February 11, 1924, in Heard County, Georgia. She was a homemaker and long-time member of the Thomaston Church of God. Mrs. South was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Lee "Cotton" South, and a son, Troy South. Survivors include a daughter, Trudy South Taylor; two sons: Jimmy South and Anthony (Diane) South, both of Thomaston; a sister Molly Ann Williamson of Carrollton, GA; a brother Roger Ward of Cataula, GA; eight grandchildren: Mandy Batchelor, Amy Reid, Nichole South, Brandy South; Marcus (Neely) South, Stephen (Dawn) South; Jason (April) South, and Timmy (Betty) Spires; twenty-six great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
