Mrs. Frances Daniel Birdsong, 96, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, October 10th, 2017 at Riverside Health and Rehab. Funeral services for Mrs. Birdsong will be held on Friday, October 13th, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Flint River Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Lee Price and Elder Lavone Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family of Mrs. Birdsong will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 until 8:00 PM. Mrs. Birdsong was born in the Meansville Community of Pike County on October 26th, 1920, a daughter of the late Louis Cornelius and Frances Elizabeth Whatley Daniel, Sr. She worked for over 40 years in the Bleachery Division of Thomaston Mills. Mrs. Birdsong had been a member of the Flint River Primitive Baptist Church since 1934 and was a former Sunday School teacher for the church. She was also a member of the Thurston Community Club, the Thurston Homemakers and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Birdsong is survived by her sister, Christine Threadgill of Thomaston; a niece, (caregiver) Angela (Greg) Allen; nephew Jimmy (Jennie) Adams of Jackson; and several other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and great great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Birdsong, sisters Rachel D. Hudson and Emmie Adams, and a brother, L. C. Daniel, Jr. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
