Mrs. Frances Kersey Gooden, 87, of Thomaston, died Sunday, June 8th, 2014 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Funeral services for Mrs. Gooden will be held Wednesday, June 11th, 2014 at 4 pm at Clark's Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Dean Hemphill and Rev. Tony Howeth will officiate and burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Gooden was a native of Upson County, a daughter of the late Clifford Daniel Kersey and Essie Maude Salter Kersey. During her working career she was a seamstress for Thomaston Mills. She was a member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Gooden is survived by her daughter, Dale (Jim) Martin of Thomaston and her son, Keith (Kim) Gooden of Covington; a brother, Frank Kersey of Homosassa, Fl; four grandchildren, Kyle (Amanda) Gooden of Covington, and Kresha (Neal) Hood, Matrece (Michael) Hill, and Brandon Logue, all of Thomaston; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Otis Gooden, Jr. The family of Mrs. Gooden will receive friends at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 10th, 2014 from 7 until 9 pm.
