Mrs. Gladys Thompson Gillstrap

Mrs. Gladys Thompson Gillstrap, age 95, of Thomaston died Friday, October 9, 2020, at Riverside Health and Rehab. A private funeral service will be held in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with burial to follow in South View Cemetery. Mrs. Gillstrap was born July 16, 1925, in Fruithurst, AL, to the late Lemuel Jackson Thompson and Izella Barker Thompson. She was retired, having worked for Bailes Oldsmobile in Albany, Georgia. Mrs. Gillstrap was a member of Hendricks Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Gillstrap was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Murel Gillstrap, and two sons: Wayne Lamar Gillstrap and Jerry Lee Gillstrap. Survivors include her daughter, Annette Ruth (Ed Martin) Cutchens, of Hampton, GA; three grandchildren: John Carter Cutchens of Hampton, GA; Jeff Gillstrap of Marion, NC; and Christian Gillstrap of England. Five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive.
