Mrs. Janice Reeves Smith

Mrs. Janice Reeves Smith, age 71, of Thomaston, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held Wednesday, January 26, at 2:00 PM, at Mt. View Baptist Church with Dr. Ryan Christopher and Dr. Rex King officiating. Interment will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born in Thomaston on January 20, 1951, to the late Wade Reeves and the late Mary Lucille Moncrief Reeves. She started a lawn care company in 1983 and was later self employed as a Truck Driver for over 19 years with her husband, Ricky. She enjoyed working in her yard and could grow just about anything, but she especially loved flowers. She was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving husband, Ricky Smith of Thomaston; daughters, Chastity Smith of Thomaston; Michelle Grammer of Augusta; son, Daniel (Lindsey) Smith of Thomaston; sister, Frances Kinlaw of Lakeland, Florida; brothers, Felton (Norma) Reeves of Thomaston; Phil (Earlene) Reeves of Dothan, Alabama; grandchildren, Nicholas Grammer, Nelson Grammer, Hayden Smith, and Hampton Smith. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Bentley, Jackson, Huxley, Emmalyn, and Maggie Grammer, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lincoln Reeves, Ross Reeves, Russell Reeves, Geneva Pryor, and Judy Turner.
