Mrs. Jeanette Fortson Russell

Mrs. Jeanette Fortson Russell, 89, of Thomaston, died Thursday, July 23, 2020 at her home. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Russell will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM in Upson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Joey Smith officiating. The family of Mrs. Russell will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mrs. Russell was born in Lyerly, GA on March 26, 1931, daughter of the late George Alexander and Mildred Gilbert Fortson. She moved to Upson County in 1945 and was a 1948 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. She was a retired bookkeeper for Kent Glass. Mrs. Russell was a member of the Silvertown Baptist Church. Mrs. Russell is survived by her son, Dan Russell of Meansville and three grandchildren, Richard Shane Russell, Hannah (Kyle) Glover, and Sydney (Matt Young) Russell. Numerous great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Miles Russell and a son, Keith Russell.
