Mrs. Jeanie Marie Lane Drummond, age 78, of Thomaston, died Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, GA. Funeral services for Mrs. Drummond will be held on Tuesday, January 21, at 11:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church of Thomaston. Rev. Bill Barber will officiate, and burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family of Mrs. Drummond will receive friends on Monday evening, January 20, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mrs. Drummond was born in Upson County on January 19, 1941, to the late Walter Culver Lane and Essie Will Ellerbee Lane. She graduated with honors from R. E. Lee Institute in 1959 and had been employed by Carter Insurance and later Ingram-McDaniel Insurance. She owned and operated A Special Touch Gift Shop for ten years. Mrs. Drummond enjoyed flower gardening and had a special touch with arranging flowers. She played the piano and sang and was church pianist at Flint River Primitive Baptist Church as a teenager. She was baptized at Valley Grove Baptist Church and was currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomaston. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Drummond was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Calvin Lane. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Don Drummond of Thomaston; two daughters: Donna Drummond of Warner Robins and Amy (Shane) Goude of Thomaston; a brother: Jim (Patsy) Lane of Molena; a sister-in-law, Patsy Lane of Thomaston; and three grandchildren: Cole Goude, Ben Goude, and Laney Drummond.
