Mrs. Jewell R. Bledsoe, 99, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, February 10th, 2016 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Bledsoe will be held on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Pastor Brandon Redden will officiate and entombment will follow in the Upson Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family of Mrs. Bledsoe will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Friday from 6 until 8 pm. Mrs. Bledsoe was born in Laurens County on June 3, 1916, a daughter of the late David Dorsey and Minnie Passmore Dorsey. She moved to Thomaston during her teenage years and remained here for the rest of her life. Mrs. Bledsoe was employed by Thomaston Mills and worked there for 40 years until her retirement. Mrs. Bledsoe was a charter member of the Baptist Tabernacle and became a member of the Twin Oaks Baptist Tabernacle when those churches merged. Mrs. Bledsoe is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Diana Campbell of Senoia; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Bledsoe, a daughter, Linda Gail McDaniel, and four sisters. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Twin Oaks Baptist Tabernacle, P. O. Box 701, Thomaston, GA 30286.
