Mrs. Juanita Herring Nixon, 83, of Thomaston, died Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Nixon will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at 2 PM in the chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Randall Coogler will officiate and burial will follow in South View Cemetery. Mrs. Nixon was a native of Dodge County, born on October 2, 1932. She was formerly employed with Goody's in Manchester and later was a self-employed caregiver. She attended the Outreach Full Gospel Church. Mrs. Nixon is survived by two daughters, Joann Henley and Judy Daniel, both of Thomaston; four sons, Billy (Debbie) Futch of Hickory, NC, and Bobby (Nicky) Futch, Emmett (Kim) Futch and Charlie Futch, all of Thomaston; three sisters, Betty Brown of Alabama, and Joyce Matthews and Vickie Smith, both of Thomaston; two brothers, Ed (Diane) Herring and Terry (Frankie) Herring, both of Macon; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ford Nixon, and her parents, Emmett Herring and Janie Taylor Herring. The family of Mrs. Nixon will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 until 8 pm. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
