Mrs. Julie W. Salter

Mrs. Julie Salter, 60, of Cairo, died Wednesday, October 16th, 2019 at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Salter will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Burial will follow in South View Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Salter will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mrs. Salter was born in Hawkinsville, GA on July 31, 1959, a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Louise Hitson Winkler. She lived in Thomaston for many years before relocating to Florida and South Georgia. She was an apartment manager and was currently the manager for the Long Leaf Apartments in Cairo. Prior to this, she managed the Pine Crest Apartments in Thomasville. Mrs. Salter is survived by her husband of 30 years, Randy Salter; her children, Robbie (Kaye) Watson of Milner, Bobbie Jo (Keith) White of Ellijay, Riley (Jessica) Watson of Hiawassee, and Kasey Sanders and Krystal Ryals, both of Thomaston; her sister, Evelyn Mathis of Tennessee; three brothers, Elbert Winkler of Perry, Leon Winkler of Meansville and Marion Winkler of Cochran; and eleven grandchildren.
