Mrs. June Jones Hardy age 89, of Thomaston, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at her home. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Hardy will be held on Monday, July 20th, 2015 at 11:00 a. m., in Glenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Herb Flanders officiating. Mrs. Hardy was born in Turner County, GA., on May 20th, 1926, a daughter of the late Claude Lindsey Jones and Lois Helms Jones. During World War II she worked at Robins Air Force Base in the Personnel Department and later worked for Thomaston Mills. She served as the Upson County Elections Superintendent for many years. Mrs. Hardy was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston. She was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and was very active in many church activities. Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Solon Farley Hardy, in 2009. She is survived by two children, Jane H. (Ronald) Campbell of Rockmart and Clay F. Hardy of Thomaston; two sisters, Belle Cochran of Athens and Sue Lewis of Thomaston; a brother, Claude (Beverly) Jones, Jr., of Thomaston; two grandchildren, Mathew Clay Campbell and Ronald W. Campbell II; and two great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fellowship Class of the First United Methodist Church, P. O.
