Mrs. June Steele Walton

Mrs. June Steele Walton, 71, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at her home. Memorial services for Mrs. Walton will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Dr. Sid Chapman officiating. The family of Mrs. Walton will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Mrs. Walton was born in Marion, VA, on October 19, 1947, a daughter of the late Charles and Geneva Gentry Steele. She was a retired administrative assistant for the Thomaston-Upson Board of Education. She was also trained and had worked as a legal secretary. Mrs. Walton had a passion for gardening and for genealogical research. She did extensive genealogical studies of the Steele and Gentry families and as a result of her research she wrote books for her family members. Mrs. Walton was a member of the Silvertown United Methodist Church. Mrs. Walton is survived by two daughters, Sedina Bellodas (Greg) Kreismanis of Thomaston, and Victoria Bellodas (Richard) Geursten of Robinsville, NJ; a son, Gerardo Bellodas of Doraville; two sisters, Janet (John) McGrail of Little Rock, AR, and Joyce Freyman of Yankeetown, FL; a brother Jimmy Steele of Marion, VA; two grandchildren, Steele (Kelly) Walker and Grant Capel, both of Thomaston; one great grandchild, Gideon Walker, and another great grandchild soon to be born; and a life long friend, Martha Hemphill of Columbia, SC. The family of Mrs. Walton would like to thank Laura Rigby for the loving care that she provided for their mother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude M.
