Mrs. Laura Thompson Edwards

Mrs. Laura Thompson Edwards, age 79, of Thomaston, died Thursday evening, September 2, 2021, at her residence. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Edwards will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at South View Cemetery. Dr. Ryan Christopher will officiate. Mrs. Edwards was born in Dublin on October 21, 1941, a daughter of the late Ellis Thompson and the late Addie McConnell Thompson. She was a graduate of Emory University with a degree in Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse in the operating room with Upson County Hospital and later worked at a hospital in Macon. She retired from Pruitt Healthcare in Macon. She enjoyed reading and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Mrs. Edwards is survived by her daughter, Regina (Phil) Coppersmith of Yatesville; her 8 grandchildren and her 12 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby William Edwards, and a son, Jere Edwards. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston is in charge of all arrangements.
