Mrs. Libbie Ferrell Blanton, 71, of Conyers and formerly of Thomaston, died Wednesday, February 4th, 2015 at her home. Memorial services for Mrs. Blanton will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 1 pm until the service hour. Mrs. Blanton was born in Pelham, Ga., on September 4th, 1943, a daughter of the late Anthony 'A. J.' Ferrell and Faye Bulloch Ferrell. She was a 1961 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and attended the University of Georgia. She and her husband, Stanley L. 'Stan' Blanton, had lived in Conyers for the past 17 1/2 years. Mrs. Blanton was a breast cancer survivor and an avid animal lover. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Kristina Kelly of Woodstock; a son, Mark (Karen) Kelly of Thomaston; three step-daughters, Marie (Kevin) Ryan of Hayesville, NC, Katherine (Samuel) McCowan of Monticello and Susan (John) Harrington of Conyers; two sisters, Sandi (B. C.) Standard and Toni (Charles) Shirah, both of Thomaston; two grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, 712 Locust Grove Griffin Road, Locust Grove, GA 30248.
