Mrs. Lillian Lucille Newton Croft

Mrs. Lillian Lucille Newton Croft, age 89, of Thomaston and formerly of Cumming, GA, died Tuesday, February 21, 2023, surrounded by family at her residence. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Croft will be held Saturday, February 25, at 2:00 PM, in the Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming with Pastor Craig Richards officiating. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 24.

Mrs. Croft was born on March 6, 1933, to the late John Henry White, Sr. and the late Jackie Mae White. She was retired from the meat department of Big Star Grocery. Mrs. Croft enjoyed cooking for everyone. She was a member of the Pinecrest Baptist Church in Cumming and attended Jeff Davis Baptist Church in Thomaston.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Croft was preceded in death by her husband, A. J. Newton; two sons: Joseph Edgar "Ed" Green and Charles Avery Green; and a daughter, Joyce Newton. She is survived by three daughters: Dianna Pace of Thomaston; Lucy (Henry) Hawkins of Thomaston; and Teresa Hill of Yatesville; four sons: Henry (Elsa) Green of Cumming; Larry (Peggy) Newton of Dawsonville; Eric W. Green of Qatar; and Willie (Teresa) Green of Rome; a sister, Ruth Carlson of Box Springs; twenty-five grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
