Mrs. Lillie Mae Bonds Fowler, 92, of Thomaston, died Friday, January 31, 2020, at Riverside Health and Rehab. Funeral services for Mrs. Fowler will be held on Sunday, February 2, at 4:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Elder David Cawthon and Elder Jason Cawthon will officiate, and interment will follow in Friendship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mrs. Fowler was born in Upson County on September 21, 1927, to the late Grady L. and Myrle Forehand Bonds. She was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute, and she and her late husband, Olney Fowler, owned and operated Fowler's Thriftway where she was the bookkeeper. Mrs. Fowler was a member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Fowler Knowlton. She is survived by two sons: Leon (Sandra) Fowler, III and Jerry Fowler, both of Thomaston; seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Adam) Lienau of Seal Beach, CA; Ross (Kerry) Fowler of Marietta, GA; Lee (Ruth) Fowler of East Point, GA; Ann (Denis) Terrell of Canton, GA; Robert (Dee) Harris of Naples, FL: Shelby (Jason) Reid of Thomaston, GA: and Nica Floyd of Turbeville, SC; twelve great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and two nieces.
