Mrs. Lula Mae "Brenda" Purvis

Mrs. Lula Mae "Brenda" Purvis, age 82, of Thomaston, died Friday evening, September 8, 2023, at Harbor View Health & Rehabilitation. The family will receive friends at Fletcher Day Funeral Home on Saturday, September 16, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Purvis was born in Thomaston on November 3, 1940, to the late Johnnie Wade, Sr. and the late Judy Daniel Wade Loiacono and was raised by her mother and her step father, John Loiacono. She had been employed as a cashier and bookkeeper for A&P Grocers, as a security guard with Thomaston Mills, and as a substitute teacher for the Thomaston-Upson School System. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Purvis.

Survivors include her son, Jeff B. Purvis; a granddaughter, Katie (Andy) Baggett of Thomaston; two grandsons: Daniel (Kendel) Purvis of Columbus, and Stephen Purvis of Macon; a sister, Rosemarie (Mike) Hardeman of Thomaston; a daughter-in-law, Jan Purvis of Thomaston; two great grandsons: Kaynen Fifield and Oliver Purvis; and several nieces and nephews.
