Mrs. Margaret Suzanne Burrell King

Mrs. Margaret Suzanne Burrell King, age 72, of 1170 Lifsey Springs Road near Molena, Georgia, died Tuesday , September 2, 2014, at her residence. Born to Verlon and Margaret Burrell in Dania, Florida, on August 7, 1942, Suzanne lived in South Florida until she moved to Forsyth, Ga., to attend Tift College. She married Marvin Gwyn King of Lifsey Springs on December 5, 1964. Over the course of her life in Georgia, Suzanne held many positions: registrar at Upson County Hospital, secretary at Pike County High School, Amway business owner, wallpapering contractor, joint owner at The Nifty Crafters arts and crafts shop in Meansville, and an indispensable help on her husband Gwyn's farm. She proudly served as a member of the Pike County Board of Education for fourteen years, representing the students and parents of District 5. Her favorite pastimes were fishing, traveling, and spending time with her family. Suzanne was a dedicated Christian woman who served God in many capacities as a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Lifsey Springs, most notably as choir director for over thirty years. She used the beautiful voice He gave her to glorify Him and bless everyone who heard her sing. Mrs. King is survived by her devoted husband Gwyn, her daughter Kimberly (Matthew) Evans, two grandchildren Megan Baker and Alex Evans, her mother-in-law Rosalee King, two sisters-in-law Vivian Lee and Geraldine Haymans, one brother-in-law James Haymans, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. King will be held Tuesday, September 9, at 4:00 PM from the Beulah Baptist Church, Hwy. 109 W., Molena, Ga., with Rev. Jim Pitts and Rev. Billy Lawrence officiating. Internment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home on Monday evening, September 8, from 6-7 PM.
