Mrs. Margie Mallory Harris

Mrs. Margie Mallory Harris, 78, of Columbus, died Thursday, January 15th, 2015 at the Azalea Trace Hospice in Columbus. Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will be held on Sunday, January 18th, 2015 at 3 pm in the Chapel of the Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home. Dr. James C. Elder will officiate and burial will follow in the Flint River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Harris was born in Thomaston on January 29th, 1936, a daughter of the late William C. Mallory and Clara Montgomery Mallory. She was a graduate of the Piedmont School of Nursing and was retired from Muscogee Manor. She was named the Georgia Nurse of the Year for Long Term Care in 1987. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Morningside Presbyterian Church of Columbus. She is survived by two sons, Patrick (Monica) Harris of Columbus and Jeff (Carol) Harris of Cumming; and four grandchildren, Nathan Harris of Cumming, Mallory Harris of Columbus, Walker Harris of Columbus and Adelyn Harris of Cumming. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Phil 'Dave' Harris, in 2010. The family of Mrs. Harris will receive friends at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 until 3 pm.
