Mrs. Marie Montgomery Brown

Mrs. Marie Montgomery Brown, age 89, of Thomaston, died Thursday, August 24, 2023, at her residence.  Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be held Monday, August 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at the East Thomaston Baptist Church.  Rev. Joey Smith will officiate, and interment will follow in South View Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Brown was born in Molena, GA, on July 17, 1934, to the late Warren Legg and the late Lennie Watts Legg. She was a 1952 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and was retired from the Georgia Natural Gas Company. Mrs. Brown was a devoted member of East Thomaston Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Horace Thomas Montgomery, her second husband, Carl Hubert Brown, and her sister, Joan Smith. Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter, Janna (Jim) Qualls of Peachtree City, GA; her son, Tommy (Wendy) Montgomery of Box Springs, GA; a stepson, Allen Brown of Orlando, FL; one sister. Lorraine Jackson of Thomaston, GA; four grandchildren: Tom (Bethany) Montgomery, Lacey (Garrett) Bosely, Betsy (Matt) Pinson, and Ellen (Nathan) Wright. Seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
