Mrs. Martha Faye Stevens Ethridge

Mrs. Martha Faye Stevens Ethridge, age 85, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Ethridge will be held Saturday, October 21, at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Thomaston. Rev. Bryan McPherson and Rev. Bill Barber will officiate, and interment will follow in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Ethridge was born in Thomaston on July 5, 1938, to the late Horace Stevens and the late Thelma Helms Stevens. She was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. She was a retired customer service representative with Bank of Upson, and prior to her banking career, she was the owner of Stevens Fabrics. She was an excellent seamstress and cook, and she always enjoyed taking care of people. Mrs. Ethridge was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomaston.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ethridge was preceded in death by her husband, James Lamar Ethridge, Sr.

Survivors include two sons: James Lamar "Jay" (Helen) Ethridge of Alpharetta, GA, and Scot (Allison) Ethridge of Warner Robins, GA; two brothers: Harold (Marijo) Stevens and Tommy (Glenda) Stevens, both of Thomaston; two grandsons: Trey Ethridge and Blake Ethridge; and several nieces and nephews.
