Mrs. Martha Jane Mccarty Sellers

Mrs. Martha Jane McCarty Sellers, 82, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, December 24th, 2014 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Sellers was born in Ideal on March 7, 1932, a daughter of the late Lester Reid McCarty and Wilhelmina Smith McCarty. She was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and shortly after graduation she moved to Columbus. Mrs. Sellers was a receptionist for a law firm in Columbus for several years and returned to Thomaston in 1992. She had been a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Sellers is survived by her her daughter, Deborah (Bill) Durden of Woodstock; two sons, Michael Sellers of Marietta and Stanton (Karla) Sellers of Bonaire; two sisters, Mary Jo McCarty Rawls of Atlanta and Jean McCarty Ivey of Macon; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held Monday Morning, December 29th, at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in Thomaston. Rev. Bill Barber will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 10 o'clock until 11 o'clock Monday Morning. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Sellers may be made to the TV Ministry of the First Baptist Church, 208 South Church St., Thomaston, GA 30286.
