Mrs. Mary A. Owen, 99, of Thomaston, died Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Harborview Nursing Care. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Owen will be held on Tuesday, February 4, at 2:30 PM, in South View Cemetery with Rev. Andy Cunningham officiating. Mrs. Owen was born in Pike County on July 24, 1920, to the late Dewitt Allen and Willie Wood Allen. She was retired from Thomaston Mills where she was employed in the Bleachery Division Office. Mrs. Owen was a member of the Thomaston China Painters, and the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston where she was active in the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband Mack Owen. She is survived by her son, Gary M. (Mae) Owen; two grandchildren: Allen G. Owen and Mary E. (Randy) Hankinson; four great grandchildren: Gabrielle Anne-Marie Hankinson, Thomas Randell Hankinson, Jr., Elizabeth Catherine Leonard, and Charlotte Mackenzie Hankinson; a nephew, Doug (Pat) Allen, and a niece Kay (Roger) Green. Several great nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 707, Thomaston, GA 30286.
