Mrs. Mary Annie Townsend

Mrs. Mary Annie Townsend, 65, of Thomaston, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the residence of her nephew. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Townsend will be held Thursday, June 10, at 12:30 PM, in South View Cemetery. Pastor Jereme Chaney and Rev. Tim South will officiate. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00 -12:00. Mrs. Townsend was born August 20, 1955, in Thomaston, to the late James Emmett Daugherty and Mary Elizabeth Blount Daugherty. She had previously been employed as a CNA by Providence Health Care. Mrs. Townsend was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church where she was a choir member and worked with the food bank. She loved her family and her church family. Mrs Townsend was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold Marion Cromer; her second husband, Bobby Lee Townsend; a son, Lester Cromer; two sisters: Peggy Elizabeth Salter and Mary Grace Daugherty; and two brothers: Jimmie Frank Daugherty and James Henry Daugherty. She is survived by two sons: John Curtis Cromer and James Emmett Cromer, both of Thomaston; a sister, Ida Holloway of Thomaston; two brothers: Leonard Edward Daugherty of Zebulon, GA, and Emmett Oliver (Judy) Daugherty of West Point, UT; two sisters-in-law: Mary Anderson and Martha A. Daugherty; a brother-in-law, Marion "Marty" Salter; and several nieces and nephews. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
