Mrs. Mary Emma George

Mrs. Mary Emma George, 82, of Thomaston, died Monday, March 25, 2019, at Harbor View Healthcare. Funeral services for Mrs. George will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019, at 2:00 PM, at Northridge Church with Rev. Marc Pritchett officiating. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family of Mrs. George will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour. Mrs. Georgia was born in Thomaston on July 28, 1936, daughter of the late Grady Odel and Gerdie Mae Wood Carr, She was a retired lunchroom worker for the Upson County School System. Mrs. George was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Mrs. George is survived by three sons, Merrill (Gail) George, Robert (Debra) George and Bill (Sherry) George, all of Thomaston; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Matthews George. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
