Mrs. Mary Joan Johnson

Mrs. Mary Joan Johnson, 89, of Thomaston, died July 26, 2022, at Riverside Health and Rehab. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held Thursday, July 28, at 11:00 AM, at Upson Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tim South will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, July 27, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the family residence, 125 Salbar Street, Thomaston, GA. Mrs. Johnson was born October 1, 1932, in Rossville, GA, to the late John Calvin Wheeler and Lillian Gertrude Stein Wheeler. She was a medical assistant for the late Dr. J. M. Kellum for many years and was a member of Elkins Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Johnson, four sisters, and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Angie Hammock; her son, Tracy Johnson; and three grandsons: Jason Hammock, Justin (Katherine) Hammock, and Joshua Peugh.
