Mrs. Melba Ellen Lenderman Windsor

Mrs. Melba Ellen Lenderman Windsor, age 88, of Auburn, Alabama, died Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the Bethany House in Auburn. Funeral services for Mrs. Windsor will be held Wednesday, May 4, at 2:00 PM, at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Trinity Baptist Church. Mrs. Windsor was born June 23, 1933, in Whitesburg, Georgia, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Lenderman and the late Bertie Mae Tolbert Lenderman. She was the owner and operator of Tara Hallmark Gifts and Fabric Store. She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church where she was a choir member and for many years served as children’s choir director. She moved to Monarch Estates in Auburn to be near her daughter, where she served as an ambassador. She was an avid music lover and enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She loved her family and extended family greatly. Mrs. Windsor is survived by her daughter, Denise (Marvin) Thomas of Auburn, Alabama; her grandson, Seth (Becky) Gordy of Lizella, Georgia; and her great grandchildren, Taylor Ann Gordy, Windsor Claire Askew, Elizabeth Shepard, Laura Shepard, Palmer Thomas, Adair Thomas, and Gracie Askew. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Windsor in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gordon Windsor and her granddaughter, Ellen Askew.
