Mrs. Mildred Gaynell Blair of Thomaston died on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Blair will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Hendricks Baptist Church Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Blair will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:00 until 1:30 PM. Mrs. Blair was a native of Thomaston, a daughter of the late Guy and Essie Hay Brownlee. She was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. Mrs. Blair married the late Buddy L. Blair of Sterling, CO, in 1951 and became a military wife. She accompanied her husband on his duty stations which included Iran and Turkey. Her husband was stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base at the time of his retirement from the Air Force and he and Mrs. Blair lived in Panama City during this time. She returned to her hometown of Thomaston approximately one year ago. She was a member of Parker Baptist Church, Panama City, FL. Mrs. Blair is survived by a daughter, Becky Lynn Conkey of El Paso, TX; a son, Steven Blair of Atlanta; two brothers, James (Mavis) Brownlee of Jackson and Wesley (Grace) Brownlee of Danville; two granddaughters, Nancy and Allison; and one great grandson, Jonathan.
