Mrs. Nancy Kate Dover Barfield

Mrs. Nancy Kate Dover Barfield, 81, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Barfield will be held on Friday, August 16th, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Thomaston with Dr. Glenn Gilstrap and Rev. Bill Barber officiating. Interment will follow in South View Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Barfield will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mrs. Barfield was a life-long resident of Thomaston, born on November 29th, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Frank H. Dover and Annie Doris Peaden Dover. She was a homemaker and an avid bridge player. Mrs. Barfield was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Barfield; her daughter, Catherine (Sam) Barfield Baity of Thomaston; two sons, Webster (Karen) Barfield of Thomaston and Dr. Malcolm (Dr. Kitti) Barfield of Cartersville; her sister, Loquita Dover Jordan of Thomaston; her brother, Frank H. “Buster” Dover, Jr., of Inman, SC; and five grandchildren, Anna Catherine “Catie” Evans, Lily Dover Entrekin Baity, Jason Malcolm Barfield, Jacob Bedford Barfield and Silas Webster Barfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Dover Johns. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
