Mrs. Nita Blackstock, 79, of Thomaston, died Sunday, February 12th, 2017, at the Woods Senior Center in Griffin. Mrs. Blackstock was born in Thomaston on May 14, 1937, a daughter of the late Winfred and Doris Tapley Hortman. She and her husband, the late T. P. Blackstock, Jr., operated the family hardware stores which began as Economy Auto Store, later the Otasco, and finally the Coast to Coast stores. Mrs. Blackstock was a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club and the China Painters Club. She was a skilled artist and enjoyed water color, oil and ceramic paintings. Mrs. Blackstock was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Blackstock is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Susan Blackstock of Molena; and a brother, Fred Hortman and his wife, Sherry, of Peachtree City. Memorial services for Mrs. Blackstock will be held on Tuesday, February 14th, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Marson officiating. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the service hour. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P. O.
