Mrs. Opalene Yates Woodson

Mrs. Opalene Yates Woodson, 86, of Peachtree City and formerly of Thomaston, died Sunday, October 11, 2015, at Ashley Glen Assisted Living Facility In Peachtree City. Mrs. Woodson was born in Thomaston on May 18, 1929, and the daughter of the late Willie Yates and Opal Gray Yates. She was a graduate of R. E. Institute. Mrs. Woodson was employed for many years as a customer service representative for the Bank of Upson. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Service Guild. Mrs. Woodson is survived by three daughters, Kay Woodson Franklin of Peachtree City, Kim Woodson Pressley of Thomaston, and Kathy Woodson (Eddie) Duke of Griffin; five grandchildren, Kayla (Bill) Dannelly and Kristi (Karl) Lutz of Peachtree City; Tripp (Whitney) Duke of Jacksonville, FL, Rand Pressley of Cordele, and Woody Duke of Atlanta; five great grandchildren, Virginia Dannelly and Sarah Catherine Dannelly, both of Atlanta, Mac Dannelly of Peachtree City, and Sadie Lutz and Jake Lutz, both of Peachtree City; and her caregiver and special friend, Albina Laruffa of Newnan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Woodson was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne B. Woodson and two brothers, Willie P. Yates, Jr., and Charles Odell Yates. Funeral services for Mrs. Woodson will be held on Tuesday, October 13th, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Thomaston with the Rev. Herb Flanders officiating. Burial will follow in South View Cemetery.
