Mrs. Peggy Mae Ellis Morgan, 87, of Thomaston, died Monday, May 25, 2020 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Private graveside services will be held in South View Cemetery. Mrs. Morgan was born on January 7, 1933 in Emanuel County to the late Ben and Lucile Ellis. She began working at the age of 15 and spent her life as a hairdresser. At the time of her death she was the owner and operator of Peggy's Salon. She was called on countless times during her career by Fletcher-Day Funeral Home to style hair. Hair styling was her ministry as she went to many nursing homes to perform hair styling services. Mrs. Morgan was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the church choir and served as a Sunday School teacher for the two-year-old class for over 30 years. Mrs. Morgan is survived by her nieces, Sandra (Jimmy) Fender and Sonia (Billy) McElhenney, both of Thomaston; a great niece, Heather (Brian) Lovejoy of Thomaston; and a great great niece and great great nephew, Autumn and Austin Lovejoy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Morgan, her brother, Benny Ellis, and a great niece, Allison McElhenney.
