Mrs. Ruby G. Collins Smoot, 96, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, November 4th, 2014 at Riverside Health and Rehab. Funeral services for Mrs. Smoot will be held on Friday, November 7th, 2014 at 11:00 a. m., in the Chapel of the Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home. Elder Julius Stewart and Rev. Wayne Collins will officiate and burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Smoot was born in Pike County on May 14, 1918. She had made her home in Thomaston since 1938 and was retired from the Martha Mills Division of the B. F. Goodrich Company. Mrs. Smoot was a great cook and also enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Grace Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Smoot is survived by a daughter, Patricia Collins (Ed) Stowers of Alpharetta; three sons, Rev. Wayne (Martha) Collins, Javan (Shirley) Collins and Glenn (Pat) Collins, all of Thomaston; four grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. The family of Mrs. Smoot will receive friends at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 until 8 pm.
