Mrs. Ruby Lee Cantrell Heaton, age 94 of 213 Franklindale Road, died in Providence Health Care Friday, April 4, 2014. Mrs. Heaton was born in Acworth, GA to the late John Virgil Cantrell and Laura Bell Riley Cantrell. Mrs. Heaton worked for Thomaston Mills Peerless Division as a spinner. She attended Outreach Full Gospel Church. Mrs. Heaton taught Sunday School and was faithful to minister to all nursing home patients for over twenty years. She was active in supporting the jail and prison ministries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus C. Heaton and a son, Felix Bryant Heaton. Mrs. Heaton is survived by daughters, Glenda H. Collins, of Gray, GA; Catherine (Freddy) Harp, of Thomaston, GA; sons, Calvin (Gwinette) Heaton, of Thomaston, GA; Donald (Diana) Heaton, of Rockmart, GA; sister, Clara Bell Brock, of Pontotoc MS; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Mrs. Heaton's family would like to acknowledge the compassion and kindness shown to Mrs. Heaton by: Sallie Foster, Cathy Howell, Martha Reeves, Thomaston Hospice and Providence Health Care. Funeral services for Mrs. Heaton will be held Monday, April 7, 2014, at 3:00 PM in the Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held in Upson Memorial Gardens. Rev. Dean Hemphill will officiate. The family will receive friends at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Georgia, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
