Mrs. Shirley Ann Moore Parrish

Mrs. Shirley Ann Moore Parrish, age 84, of Thomaston, died Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Providence Health Care. Funeral services for Mrs. Parrish will be held Wednesday, May 8, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Pastor Jereme Chaney will officiate, and interment will follow in South View Cemetery.

Mrs. Parrish was born in Upson County on May 29, 1939, to the late Thomas F. Moore and the late Mae Stribling Moore. After graduating from R. E. Lee Institute, she was employed by the William Carter Company. She later earned a degree in cosmetology and was a hairdresser. She also was a Certified Nursing Assistant.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parrish was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Ray Parrish, four sisters: Edna Kilgore, Mary Parker, Nell Harrison, and Helen Creamer; and two brothers: Thomas Leon Moore and Ben Moore. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda (Jeff) Meyer of St. Simons Island, GA; her son, Michael Parrish of Thomaston; a sister, Ruth (Frank) Milton; a brother, Sonny (Linda) Moore; two grandchildren: Kyle and Noah Meyer; three nieces: Joyce (Pete) Moran, Brenda Wilson, and Linda Smith; and five nephews: Jimmy Moore, Joseph Milton, Jeffery (Carrie) Milton, Danny Milton, and Kevin (Amber) Moore.
