Mrs. Virginia “Jenny” Woodall Lee, formerly of Brunswick, GA, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Riverside Health and Rehab in Thomaston, Georgia. Mrs. Lee was born in Macon, GA and spent most of her childhood in Ft. Meade, FL. She was retired from the Glynn County School System. She was a long-time member of the Jekyll Island Baptist Chapel and First Baptist Church of Brunswick, an active member of the Glynn County Republican Party and an avid community volunteer including working as a Pink Lady for many years at Southeast GA Health System and teaching Sunday School. She was most recently a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomaston, GA. She deeply loved her Lord and Savior, her family, her friends, the beach and the Florida Gators. She never met a stranger and had a kind word and bright, beautiful smile for everyone who crossed her path. Her infectious laugh and eternal optimism was an inspiration to many. She indeed, lived her life abundantly .Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thad S. Lee, Jr.; her parents, Alvah Roland and Clara Wilbanks Woodall; and her sister Lynn Smith. Mrs. Lee joined her husband Thad in Heaven exactly twenty three years to the day of his passing in 1993.She is survived by five children: Thad “Chip” Lee, III and his wife Dale of Raleigh, NC; Julie Lee Love and her husband Ken of Thomaston, GA; Joni Lee Bennett and her husband Buck of Brunswick, GA; John Kelly Lee and his wife Amy of Raleigh, NC; and Jane Lee Comiskey and her husband Patrick of Thomaston, GA; along with one brother, Alvah “Bubba” Woodall of Ft. Meade, FLA. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren: BJ Bennett and John Thomas “JT” Bennett of Brunswick, GA; Shannon Lee of Cary, NC; Josh Grier of Raleigh, NC; Betsy Love Stewart and Suzy Love Burgess of Thomaston, GA; Tommy Love of Brooklyn, NY; Harrison Lee and Maddie Lee of Raleigh, NC; Emily DeCurtis of Dallas, TX; Sophia DeCurtis of Kennesaw, GA and Charlie DeCurtis of Fayetteville, GA. In addition she is survived by eight great-grandchildren and seven half-brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held at 4PM on Sunday, January 1, 2017 in the Music Funeral Home Chapel in Waycross, GA. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Waycross, Ga. The family will receive friends between 3PM and 4PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
