Mrs. Wilma Pitts Hooper, 90, Thomaston, Ga. died Thursday, July 16, 2015. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18th at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Rev. Herb Flanders will officiate and burial will follow in South View Cemetery. She worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 29 years and retired to her hometown of Thomaston. She was graduated from Robert E. Lee Institute and as a proud member of The Greatest Generation became one of the early employees at Robins Air Force Base in 1942. She was a Red Cross volunteer in the DeKalb General Hospital emergency room and in later years worked at Upson Regional Hospital. She is survived by her sons Robert L. Hooper and Raymond N. Hooper as well as her sisters Betty Ann Fordham and Virginia Lynch. In lieu of flowers memorials to ShepherdCare Hospice, 1501B Kalamazoo Dr., Griffin, GA 30224 are appreciated.
