Ms. Mary Elaine Taunton

Ms. Mary Elaine Taunton, 70, of Thomaston, died Friday, October 19, 2018, at her home. Elaine was born and raised here in Thomaston, Ga. on September 30, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Lucy Taunton. Niece of Mack Taunton and she was the youngest sister to Gene Blakely, Bobbie Brown, Sybil Bennett and the late Jerry Blakely. She was Aunt Elaine to the late Al Blakely, Roxie & Joel Hall, Mike Blakely, Lisa & Stacy Brown, Kim Brown, Doug & Leslie Brown, April & Jeff Rogers, and Deanne Allen. She loved being the great Aunt to 14 and great-great Aunt to 17 little ones. She is survived by the love of her life, Marvin Lee Brown, Jr. “Junior”, Shannon and Scott Peugh and their children, Blaze Strom, Bronzon, Braylee-Grace Peugh, and great grandson Xander Strom. The family would like to thank Diana Holloway, Kim Hinson, Ashley and Kendra Goff for their loving care of Elaine during her last few months. A graveside service is being planned for Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Antioch Methodist Church with Rev. Judson Barnes officiating.
