Ms. Virginia “Ginger” Methvin, age 79, of Thomaston, passed away Monday morning, February 1, 2021, at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Ms. Methvin will held Tuesday, February 2, at 11:00 AM, at Trinity Baptist Church. Rev. Bob Wilson will officiate and interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus at 2:00 PM. Ms. Methvin will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. She was born in Americus, Georgia on August 13, 1941, to the late Daniel Paul and the late Katherine Brown Methvin. She graduated from Mary Persons High School in Forsyth. She worked for Central Telephone Company for 25 years, Cooks Market in Thomaston for 3 years, and finally for the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth for 11 years. She liked to joke, talk, and laugh. She was member of Trinity Baptist Church of Thomaston. Survivors include her cousins, Jim Bennaman of Sharpsburg; Ann Bennaman of Fayetteville; David (Katie) Hartley of Winder; Andrew Bennaman of Fayetteville; Patricia Brown of Shelby, NC; and Rusty Brown and his family of Shelby, NC. Also surviving are her many friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Trinity Baptist Church or to a charity of the donors choice in her memory.
