Mrs. Patricia F. Poteat, 77, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Poteat was a life-long resident of Upson County and was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. She was employed for 38 years at the Martha Mills Division of the B. F. Goodrich Company and served as a key punch operator until her retirement. Mrs. Poteat was a member of the Valley Grove Baptist Church and served as the song director for 12 years. She was also a member of the Ladies' Trio and the WMU. Mrs. Poteat is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Poteat; two sons, Kenny (Darnell) Poteat of Thomaston and Downey (Alicia) Poteat of Locust Grove; three brothers, Robert (Andrea) Fallin of Thomaston, Stanley (Derenda) Fallin of Fayetteville and David Fallin of Cordele; seven grandchildren, Dusty Poteat and Heath (Jane Asher) English, both of Thomaston, Sara Poteat of Chattanooga, TN, and Paul Poteat, Desiree Rogers, Daisy Rogers and Sage Rogers, all of Locust Grove; and six great grandchildren, Mackenzie English, Campbell English, Addison English, Brooks English, Brantley Poteat and Madison Poteat, all of Thomaston.
