Randall W. Mccarty, Sr.

Mr. McCarty was a native of Oglethorpe but had made his home in Upson County for many years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and was a shop supply clerk for Thomaston Mills for over 40 years. Mr. McCarty was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and had served as a Deacon for four years. He is survived by his wife, Fleta D. McCarty of Thomaston; two daughters, Debbie M. (Phil) Powers and Dianne M. (Claude Grant) Kennedy, both of Thomaston; two sons, Randy (Wanda) McCarty, Jr., of Jones County and David (Debbie “Buckwheat”) McCarty of Thomaston; a sister, Elizabeth Leverett of Barnesville and a brother, Robert McCarty of Bonaire; four grandchildren, Steve (Sandy) Powers, Kelly (Jay) Elliott, Crystal McCarty and Cindy McCarty, all of Thomaston; and five great grandchildren, Ansley Powers, MacKenzie Powers, Kade Powers, Dalton Elliott and Lauren Elliott.
