Reginald George Castleberry

Mr. Castleberry was a life-long resident of Thomaston, a son of the late Reginald D. Castleberry and Mamie Henry Castleberry. He was a 1961 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. and a 1984 graduate of Tift College. He was a Georgia State Trooper until his retirement on May 1st, 1997. At the time of his retirement he had served the State for 34 years and held the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Castleberry was a member of the Morningstar Lodge #27, Free and Accepted Masons, and served as Worshipful Master in 1974. In addition to his parents, Mr. Castleberry was preceded in death by a son, Jack Harold Castleberry, a brother, Arthur D. Castleberry, and two sisters, Vivian Knight and Ruth Harrell. He is survived by a son, David Henry Castleberry of Yatesville; a sister, Rose Ann (Bruce) Muse of Jasper; two grandchildren, Amber Castleberry and Wade Castleberry; special friends, Marilyn Dickerson, Don Peacock, Jeff Rogers and David Riggins; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Castleberry may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
