Riley Montgomery

Mr. Jesse Riley Montgomery, age 82, of 1027 Triune Mill Road, died Saturday Night, August 14th, in Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday Afternoon, August 18th, at 2 o'clock in the First Assembly of God Church. Rev. Mark Fordham and Dr. Rex King will officiate. Interment will be in South View Cemetery, with Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Montgomery was a native of Upson County and was a barber by profession. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church. Mr. Montgomery was a member of the Harmony Boys Quartet, and sang gospel music for 50 years. He had served in the United States Navy. Mr. Montgomery is survived by: 2 Daughters - Mrs. Tonie (Larry) Newman, of Columbus; and Mrs. Melinda (Billy) Brown, of Cairo, New York; 3 sons - Mr Mike (Velma) Montgomery, Mr. Kim Montgomery, and Mr. William Montgomery, all of Thomaston; 1 sister - Mrs. Faye Bagley, of Thomaston; 3 Brothers - Mr. James Montgomery and Mr. Earl Montgomery, both of Thomaston; and Mr. Barney Montgomery, of Tucson, Arizona. 15 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren also survive.
