Rudolph (Rudy) Clark Inman, Jr.

Mr. Rudolph (Rudy) Clark Inman, Jr., age 69, of Thomaston, died Thursday, July 21, 2016, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Bacon County, GA. Memorial services will be held Monday, July 25, at 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church of Thomaston, with Rev. Bill Barber officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 24, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Inman, a son of the late Rudolph Clark Inman, Sr. and Dorothy Floyd Inman, was a native of Lumberton, NC. Rudy was a graduate of William Carey College. He served 21 years in the United States Air Force attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. After retiring from the USAF, he began his own business, Inman Sales, Incorporated, a wholesale plumbing company. Rudy also served as president of the Irish Setters Club of Georgia. He enjoyed showing Irish Setters and owned several thoroughbred race horses. He also drove the travel bus for school sports activities for the Thomaston-Upson school system. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Thomaston, serving on the multi-media team, teaching 4th grade Sunday School, driving the cancer car, and he was a dedicated member of the Samaritan Men's Sunday School class. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frankie Gardner Inman of Thomaston; two sisters: Barbara Carroll of San Antonio, TX and Claudia (Joseph) Gleezen of Lumberton, NC; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Joan Gardner of Thomaston; and his brother-in-law, Dr. William (Lori) Gardner of Thomaston. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
