Sammie "Boogie" Ray Davis

March 27, 1940 — May 11, 2011

Mr. Davis was a native of Thomaston. He served in the U. S. Air Force, and later was employed as a fire fighter with the City of Atlanta Fire Department. Mr. Davis rose to the rank of Captain and retired in 1992 after 32 years of service. He was a Mason and member of the Shrine. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Davis Lane. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Donna T. Davis; four daughters, Kim (Mike) Davis Pittman of McDonough, Trace Davis and Kasey Davis, both of Suwanee, and Stacy (Rob) Bartlett of Gay; one son, Todd (Adriean) Childree of Molena; a sister, Sue Thrasher and a brother, Jimmy Davis, both of Thomaston; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
