Mr. Thomas W. (Dub) Vaughan, age 91, of 107 Oakdale Street, died Monay Morning in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Mr. Vaughan was a native of Cartersville, Georgia. He volunteered to join the U. S. Air Force and became an electrical enginer during his time in the Air Force during World War II. He attended Georgia Tech before being recalled for duty during the Korean war. After his discharge, he finished his business degree at Georgia State College. He married his wife of 60 years, Inez Lavasque, on November 3, 1951. They moved to Thomaston in 1957 and purchased Thomaston Auto Parts. Mr. Vaughan was a long-time businessman and avid supporter of the Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce. He was a member, elder, and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church and was a Mason for 61 years, in which he had reached the 32nd deree. He was the oldest of three children of Annie L. Vaughan and Thomas W. Vaughan, Sr. Mr. Vaughan is survived by: His wife - Mrs. Inez L. Vaughan, of Thomaston 1 daughter - Mrs. Dale Vaughan (Steven) Hansen, of Lancaster, Pennsyvlania; 2 Sons - Mr. Michael W. (Lynn) Vaughan and Mr. Neil R. (Kelli) Vaughan, both of Thomaston ; 4 Grandchildren - Bradford Thomas Vaughan, of Tallahassee,Florida; Steven Thomas Hansen, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Ben Vaughan and Kaitlin Vaughan, both of Thomaston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 403 Birdsong Street, Thomaston,Georgia 30286.
