Mr. William James Fitzmaurice, Jr., age 87, of 231 Fambro Road, The Rock, Georgia, died Wednesday Afternoon, January 20th, in the Golden Living Center in Thomaston, Georgia. Mr. Fitzmaurice will be cremated, and no services are planned. Mr. Fitzmaurice was a native of Ottumwa, Iowa, and a former resident of Roxboro, North Carolina. He had been a resident of Upson County for 6 years. Mr. Fitzmaurice was a Naval Veteran of World War II, and was at Pearl Harbor during the bombing of that installation. He served on the USS Maryland. He also served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Fitzmaurice was employed as an electronics technician at WQXI in Atlanta, Georgia during his lifetime. Mr. Fitzmaurice is survived by: Daughter – Mrs. Sandra (Tom) Padgett, of The Rock, Georgia. 3 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild also survive. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home of Thomaston, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
