William L. "Bill" Mcgaha

October 20, 1934 — April 8, 2014

Mr. William L. 'Bill' McGaha, 79, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, April 8th, 2014 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Mr. McGaha was born in Monroe County on October 20th, 1934, a son of the late Joe McGaha and Gladys Williamson McGaha. He moved to Upson County in 1956. Mr. McGaha served his country as a member of the U. S. Army National Guard and retired after 27 years of service. He later was employed as a life insurance salesman and more recently had been a bus driver for the Council on Aging and the Gilmore Center. Mr. McGaha was a faithful member of East Thomaston Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and Sunday School director. He is survived by his wife, Gracie L. McGaha; two daughters, Gina M. (Donald) Hall of Macon and Dr. Beverly M. (Dr. Reid) Roberts of Sharpsburg; four grandchildren, Claudia Akins, Quade Roberts, Aimee (Jamie) Cheek and Hillery (Matt) Bavani; and two great grandchildren. A sister and brother also survive. Funeral services for Mr. McGaha will be held on Friday, April 11th, 2014 at 2 pm at East Thomaston Baptist Church. Rev. Joey Smith and Rev. Johnny Jones will officiate and burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
